The Moore School of Business is Number 14 of the Top 20 business schools in the United States and Canada that are "most favored by international recruiters," according to the QS TopMBA.com International Recruiter Survey 2007. Moore moved up 11 places in 2007; in 2006, the school was Number 25.
In addition, several of Moore's specializations were given high marks by corporate recruiters. Of QS's top 100 schools worldwide, Moore was 8th for the International Management specialization; 13th for the Operations Management specialization; 18th for the Entrepreneurship specialization; 19th for the Marketing specialization; and 19th for the Corporate Governance specialization.
The survey originated in the early 1990s as an alternative to business school rankings. The QS TopMBA.com survey "reflects recruiters’ preferences and is not a ranking," the report said.
Other American and Canadian schools joining the Top 20 this year are the University of North Carolina, the University of Southern California, and Western Ontario University.
The rest of the Top 20 in 2007 are the business schools at the University of Chicago (Number 1), Columbia, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, University of Michigan, MIT, Northwestern, NYU, University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, University of Texas, Thunderbird, University of California-Berkeley, UCLA, and the University of Virginia.
QS describes itself as "the world's leading independent network for higher education and related careers."
