Douglas Mahony

Biography Douglas M. Mahony is an assistant professor of management at the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. Dr. Mahony holds a Honours B.A. in History and Economics from the University of Toronto, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from Rutgers University. He joined the faculty at the University of South Carolina in 2000. Dr. Mahony teaches courses in collective bargaining and global human resource management in the undergraduate program and the Master of Human Resources program. Mahony’s research interests include alternative dispute resolution systems, and the effects of participatory work practices on unions, organizations, and employees. His research has recently appeared in Industrial and Labor Relations Review. Dr. Mahony is an active member of the Academy of Management, the Industrial Relations Research
Association, and serves as the faculty advisor to the student chapter of the Society of Human
Resource Management.
