International MBA Program

Language Training Overview

Language Track Overview

The Language Track Curriculm is a  20-22 month program  designed for students concentrating their language and internship experience within a country in which the primary language is French, Italian, German, Portuguese, or Spanish. These language tracks are available not only for U.S. students, but also for students from outside the United States who enter the program with exceptional English language skills.

29-34 month program affords students the opportunity to learn the Arabic, Japanese or Chinese language and culture. These students follow the same format as those in the 2-year language tracks their first year in the program, but they live and study for an additional 12 months in Morocco, Japan or China before they participate in the internship and their final two semesters of elective coursework.

Stage One
Core Business Curriculum

All Language Track students begin their program in early July on the USC campus with the first-year International MBA business management curriculum.

This constitutes the
internationalized core courses covering leadership, globalization, economics, entrepreneurship, accounting,
quantitative methods, finance, management, marketing, information technology and
operations management.

Stage Two
Intensive Language Study
and Overseas Internship

In early January, prior to beginning their internships, students leave USC and study their respective
languages at our partner
institutions located throughout the world. Students complete 16 weeks of intensive language training, which enhances fluency level, builds business vocabulary, and helps them understand business from the
perspective of the language and culture being studied.

Students then complete a 4
month internship in their chosen functional area of interest in the foreign country of their track.

Stage Three
Elective and Concentration
Coursework

Upon completion of the
internship, students return to USC to focus on their
business concentration
courses during the fall and spring semester. At this time students are also engaged in their fulltime job search. For the final two semsters, students enroll at USC in Columbia for a minimum of 21 credit hours of electives to obtain a business concentration. Students may opt to take one of their final semesters at a partner institution where the Moore School has established an IMBA exchange agreement.

For a current list of these
schools see Moore's
Business School Exchange
