Not Just A Job — The Right Job
When students graduate with an International MBA, they have a world of career options before them. To help students narrow their choices and figure out the types of jobs that suit them best, the Graduate Career Management Office offers a series of programs that allow students to explore their options. The series includes Lunch and Learn sessions that feature a panel of professionals, often alumni of the IMBA program, who provide insight into their professions.

Research: International Finance and National Culture
Dr. Chuck C.Y. Kwok, professor of international business, has been conducting research on the affects of national culture on a country’s financial structure and consumption patterns through a grant from the Center for International Business Education and Research at the University of South Carolina. His first three papers on the subject have already been accepted for publication in a leading journal.

Sam Moore, president of sustainability consulting firm Ouroboros Holdings, LLC, recently spoke to graduate business students about the history of U.S. companies' sluggish approach to implementing sustainable processes and how small- and medium-sized companies can use sustainability to their own competitive advantage.

Teaching Through Experience
Management science professor Sanjay Ahire teaches IMBA students how to effectively implement Lean Six Sigma tools by assigning them to real corporate consulting projects through the University of South Carolina Global Supply Chain and Process Management Center.

Simulating Foreign Market Entry & Growth
More than 500 Moore School students have used the CountryManager simulation developed and taught by Professor Marty Roth. CountryManager gives students first-hand experience selecting, entering, and growing international markets. Students work together to build brand equity, make strategic sourcing decisions, capture market share, and grow profits throughout Latin America…without leaving South Carolina!

Staubach Speaks at Moore School
Roger Staubach, executive chairman of The Staubach Company and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback, spoke to graduate students October 29 as a guest in the Wachovia Lecture Series. Staubach talked about his years of transition from quarterback to entrepreneur to corporate leader of his privately-held commercial real estate advisory firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
