Alumnus Brenton Smith Connects With Opportunities in China
Brenton Smith has seen a lot of connections to China grow since his MIBS Internship ten
years ago. The Florida native has climbed through the ranks at Delphi, holding positions in
sales, marketing, manufacturing, business development, information systems, and, planning. In
his new post, he is focused on "planning for business growth, execution, and capability
development" for Delphi's global connection systems business.

Senior Vice President of Haier America Provides Strategic Insights
Haier is one of China’s most successful global manufacturing companies.
Their global strategy and experiences expanding into the highly competitive U.S. market were topics
explored by David Parks, Senior Vice President of Haier America during his visit IMBA students
during the Global Strategic Management core course. He stressed the importance of the “Three E’s” –
Energy, Enthusiasm, and Eagerness in addressing business issues particularly in cross-cultural
contexts.

Ask Moore Provides Answers From Students
Ask Moore is an interactive way for Prospective Students to learn more about the IMBA program
from those currently living the dream. From questions about coursework and housing
to program preparation advice and reading selections, current Moore School of Business IMBA
Students are answering questions submitted through the new Ask Moore Web Site. This
technology is connecting current students and future students, providing the answers that they
want.

Globalization and Corporate Responsibility
In an increasingly interconnected world, business leaders today make decisions
that affect more than just their own businesses, employees, and customers. Business
leaders who work in other countries that have different standards on such topics as child labor,
environmental protection, workplace safety, minimum wages, and social welfare must make decisions
about how to approach those ethical dilemmas. Dr. Spicer addresses the thought process
behind those decisions, and provides a set of tools for IMBA students to use as future business
leaders.

Business Process Outsourcing Internships in India
Rick Rowland and Ethan Wang began their internships with InPhonic at
the telecom firm's headquarters near Washington DC. Then they travelled to India, where their
internship adventures led them through fascinating projects and a variety of challenges. Located in
Mangalore and Mumbai, respectively, Ethan and Rick got first-hand experience bridging the cultural
gap between InPhonic and their business process outsourcing partners in India.

New Darla Moore Fellowships Awarded to 22 Incoming IMBA Students
Twenty-two new Darla Moore Fellows recently entered the IMBA degree program at the Moore
School of Business. On their journey toward becoming business leaders, they will share
their diverse backgrounds and variety of skills with each other. The amazing diversity
and strengths of the students in this IMBA Class will be fascinating to watch.
